Miss Katie - Principal & R.A.D Ballet Teacher
Principal Miss Katie Pick began Ballet Classes at the age of 3 in The New Forest, Hampshire; soon she was taking classes five nights a week! At the age of 13 Katie was traveling up to London every weekend to Train at Arts Educational School, Chiswick & The Urdang Academy, Covent Garden, where her passion for dance grew stronger. After completing her G.C.S.E’s at The Atherley School For Girls, Southampton, Katie gained a coveted place at Arts Educational School Tring Park where she trained on the Dance & Musical Theatre Courses, and gained her first taste of performing on the West End Stage with ‘Gala’ at the Shaftsbury Theatre, London.
After completing her A-Levels & the 2-year course at Tring Park, Katie was offered a scholarship to the acclaimed London Studio Centre! After graduating in 2008 with Honors in Ballet, Jazz Dance and a Foundation Degree in Theatre Dance, Katie has worked extensively within the industry. Jobs include, West End Shows, National Tours, TV Commercials & Music Videos.
Katie also attended the World Renowned Royal Academy Of Dance where she gained her Certificate In Ballet Teaching Studies. She has also taught at the acclaimed Arts Educational School, Chiswick and The Laird Academy Of Dance & Drama.
Miss Lucy - I.S.TD Modern, Tap, Ballet Teacher & Assitant
Miss Helen - I.S.TD Modern, Tap, Musical Theatre Summer School Teacher & Assistant Having graduated in July 2015 from Doreen Bird College, London with a First Class, BA(Hons) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre, Lucy began dancing at the age of 3 at Kilburn School of Dance, Northamptinshire and won the All England Dance Competition at the age of 11. Now at the age of 22 and with the backing of a professional musical theatre agent, Lucy is auditioning for musical theatre work in UK/International Tours and the West End. Credits whilst training include dancing at the 70th anniversary of the VE Day Commemorations, 2015 in St James' Park, London and the lead role of Alice Beineke in her third year college musical 'The Addams Family'. More recently Lucy is performing with the 1920s musical theatre company "The Gatsby Girls" who perform nationally and internationally. Teaching is also a large part of Lucy's career, as a qualified dance teacher in ballet, tap, modern, national, jazz and musical theatre, she teaches at a total of 5 dance schools based both in London and Northamptonshire. Lucy also choreographs for many schools at a competitive level, where her dancers continuously reach All England Final level. She is thrilled to be joining the Primrose Hill Ballet School faculty and can't wait to share her passion for dance with her students.
Miss Helen - I.S.T.D Modern, Tap, Musical Theatre Summer School Teacher & Assistant
Miss Helen began dancing at a young age at Dragonfly Dance Centre in Staffordshire, moving on to train professionally at Bird College of Dance and Theatre Performance. She then went on to complete a professional semester at Broadway Dance Centre in New York, where she received the outstanding student award in December 2014.
Specialising in Tap and Modern, Helen not only teaches but also performs and choreographs, drawing inspiration from her own idols such as Gene Kelly, Eleanor Powell and Cyd Charisse. She hopes that her classes bring students the same joy that dance brings her!
Miss Kirsty - R.A.D Ballet Teacher
Kirsty began dancing at the age of 5 in her hometown of Plymouth. It wasn’t long before she realised her true passion for ballet and dance and therefore decided to persue it as a career. She appeared in many shows from the age of 6 and her professional career started at the tender age of 9. Prior to her vocational training, Kirsty supplemented her local training with many associate classes and summer schools. This included RAD scholars and RAD, The Royal Ballet School and The Wells summer schools. In 2006, she gained a full scholarship to attend Northern Ballet School in Manchester, appearing in many full length classical ballets with the school’s performing company Manchester City Ballet, including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Coppélia, choreographed and directed by David Needham. During her training, Kirsty achieved Distinction in all grades of RAD ballet, including Advanced 2. After graduation, she embarked on a career travelling around the world performing in all genres of dance including Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre, Tap, Ballroom, Latin American and Jazz. For the majority of her roles, Kirsty was appointed to the position of Dance Captain and Show Company Manager and has also performed the role of Swing Dancer. Kirsty was fortunate enough to travel to many exotic destinations and visited 98 countries doing what she loves.
Kirsty now wants to pass on her wealth of knowledge to her students and inspire them to strive to be the best they can be. In June 2016, she gained a place on the prestigious Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma course at the Royal Academy of Dance. Throughout the course, Kirsty has gained many valuable skills in dance pedagogy, dance teaching theories and the foundations and progressions of classical ballet to name but a few. Kirsty is thoroughly enjoying her career as a ballet teacher and aims to inspire and encourage students to be expressive and passionate dancers.
